You are so right, Amy needs help. Watching her reminds me of seeing Janis Joplin carried into a hotel unconscious back in the late 60's. I was working at the time as a bellman. It was sad then, and it's sad now. Amy is a true one of a kind talent, blessed with an expressive rich voice and stylistic nuance. She needs a shrink in the worst way to bring her to a place of awareness, and deal with her demons, and she needs constant supervision.
Sadly, only she can help herself ultimately. A person has to ask for, and be willing to accept, help. I just pray that someday, before she looses it all, she'll make that choice.
why do people pay attention this crackwhore?
it's downright annoying seeing someone so destructive to herself and others all over the news and blogs constantly. just ignore her, and maybe she'll go away.
it's just a matter of time before she ODs or something stupid, then in about ten years she'll be all but forgotten, save her 30 seconds every now and then on a vh1-style "man i love the 2000s" show.
i think this kind of thing is a disgusting display of our sensibilities (or lack thereof) in the west, that we're obsessed with crack-addled trash like this. she doesn't need help, because she won't help her self. i don't "laugh at her death spiral", i pity her, i wish she'd disappear from the public eye before she makes her decision whether to fix her life or just lay down somewhere and die.
I can't even imagine how her boyfriend is able to muster up the least bit of desire to do her..
Seriously! She's the most haggard, dirty, unkempt looking woman I've ever seen, with the exception of homeless women on the street.

Fitness Diva: I think her boyfriend, who is currently incarcerated, is part of the reason she is like this and he isn't much better off than she is. Misery loves company.
Everyone deserves a chance. Even that crazy Britney (whose media attention had gotten super annoying) appears to have bounced back. Though, I think her problem was more with mental illness and the rest was a side effect.
I think Amy is too far gone to help herself at this point.
