Randomly Bad Parenting Practices

I'm all for strict parenting when it's warranted, but some people go a little too far...and some people are just plain crazy.

An Oklahoma woman reportedly kept her son locked in a closet for most of the past 4 1/2 years, the 14-year-old boy told police. The boy was malnourished and covered with head-t-toe scars when he allegedly escaped his abusive home. (source)

His 37-year-old mother, Lashonda Marie McCall, and a friend, Steve Vern, 38, were arrested on 20 complaints of child abuse and child neglect. The boy told police alcohol had been poured on his stomach and torso and ignited. He also had been beaten with a extension cord and choked. He hadn't gone to school in 4 1/2 years and spent most of his time locked in a closet. Six other children in the house didn't show signs of abuse. This case is under investigation.
If this is true, I hope both of them receive the maximum sentence.
